Christine is a lonely artist and “Eldercab” driver who uses fantastical artistic visions to draw her objects of desire closer to her. Richards, a newly single shoe salesman and father two boys, is prepared for amazing things to happen. But when he meets Christine, he panics. Meanwhile, Richard’s seven-year-old son Robby is having a risqué Internet romance with a stranger, and Robby’s fourteen-year-old brother, Peter, has become a guinea pig for two neighbourhood girls.

“Me and You and Everyone We Know is a network narrative, roving among several characters with sometimes tenuous connections…July illustrates her connections in delicate miniature. This is likely not a question of budget or even of gender. Instead, there is in July’s character portraits a sense of wonder and optimism. She finds marvels and high philosophy in small rituals, whether the subject is the death of a goldfish of the prospect of a new romance.”
