Steve McCurry shares a moment with Kuchi nomads in Afghanistan

“I was on the outskirts of Kandahar with some Kuchi nomads,” explains the photographer, Steve McCurry, as he sets the scene to explain the story behind this photograph. Twenty minutes after sunset, the nomads started to pray; this elegant and poignant photograph illustrates McCurry's amazing ability to provide a glimpse into the everyday lives of different people from around the world.  

Every image tells a story, but it's rather special to hear it from the photographer.
