'Never stop asking questions' - David Chang's top tips for aspiring chefs

This year's Time Out New York Food & Drink Awards recognise the New York chefs and culinary hotspots that have won over the public and critics. We're pleased to announce the success of Phaidon's Coco chefs David Chang, who won the Empire Builder of the Year Award, and April Bloomfield, who secured the Best Comeback award for the John Dory Oyster Bar.
Time Out created ten categories ranging from Best Cocktail and Best Pizza to Best New Restaurant and the coveted Chef of the Year and Empire Builder of the Year awards. The voting was open to the public, who narrowed each category down to just four nominees.
Last year's winners included Andrew Carmellini of TriBeCa's Locanda Verde Restaurant (Best Chef and Best Restaurant), and special recognition was given to the Joseph Leonard Restaurant in the West Village.
